Puppy Reservations

Please read below for an explanation of how the puppy reservation process works at Fairview Park Groodles. Please only apply for a puppy if you have read and are comfortable with the process outlined below and on our puppy allocations page.

  1. Upon reviewing the information on our webpage, including our puppy allocations page, you decide we are a good fit for you and you would like to go ahead with applying to join our waitlist; please apply by filling in an application form.  This ensures all applicants are stored in one place and also provides us with the information we need when conducting puppy allocations.

    • If you would prefer to apply through RightPaw (for secure payment options and the ability to opt into Puppy Parent Club etc) you can also apply that way using this link.

  2. We will review and respond to your application within 72 hours.

  3. Approved applicants will then be added to our waitlist.

  4. Upon a female going into season, those on our waiting list will be contacted to gauge interest in the upcoming litter.

  5. If firm interest exists the litter will go ahead and upon pregnancy confirmation up to 6 early reservation spots* will be offered.

  6. A reservation fee of $500 is required to reserve a puppy at this stage, and is applied towards the total purchase amount of the puppy.

  7. If a pregnancy does not occur, progress or the litter cannot accommodate all of the reservation spots, families will be given the option to either transfer to an upcoming litter with availability or have their reservation fee refunded. This is the only circumstance in which a refund would be issued.

  8. The reservation fee is non-refundable in all other circumstances, but it is transferable to another litter within 12 months. Your reservation is not transferable to another family.

  9. The reservation list position is allocated in order of waiting list order provided the reservation feeis paid within 24 hours, otherwise the list order will be in order of reservation fee payment. When puppy allocations are made, this will be the pick order on selection day.

  10. The first 2 picks for every litter are always reserved for our breeding program and for a special needs placement. We also reserve the right to withdraw a puppy from the pick list if we deem it only suitable for limited environments (based on either the families or pups’ special needs).

  11. Further spots will be made available to reserve once the puppies are born and we know how many spots are remaining. These will be offered in waiting list order.

  12. We communicate and provide litter updates to future puppy parents throughout the developmental stages of the litter.

  13. Booking links will be sent for visits and go-home day well in advance to assist in planning for your new family member.

  14. When the puppies are 7-7.5 weeks old, we conduct puppy evaluations. We try our best to match the right puppy with the right family based on these evaluations. The families make the final decision on which puppy to choose in the reservation list order. Please see the Puppy Allocations Page for comprehensive information on this process.

  15. Puppies go home at 8 weeks, with the remaining balance due on go-home day. Payment is made in cash on the day or can be made securely via RightPaw or Direct Deposit at least 72 hours before going home. We do not offer payment plans.

  16. Travel can be arranged for those living outside the Canberra area. Please see the Pricing and Purchase Information Page for more information on this.
