Exciting News for 2025: Introducing Miniature Golden Bernedoodles alongside our Beloved Groodles

Hello to all our wonderful dog lovers! At Fairview Park, we’re always looking for ways to bring more joy and variety into the lives of our clients and their families. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that starting in 2025, we will be offering two amazing breeds: our beloved Groodles and the enchanting Miniature Golden Bernedoodles, also known as Golden Mountaindoodles, in the US. Here’s a breakdown of each breed and what makes them special.

Golden Bernedoodle Puppy

What is a Golden Bernedoodle?

The Golden Bernedoodle, also known as the Golden Mountain Doodle in some regions, is a cross between three beloved breeds: the friendly and outgoing Golden Retriever, the loyal and gentle Bernese Mountain Dog, and the intelligent and hypoallergenic Poodle. This tri-breed mix aims to capture the best traits from each parent, resulting in a dog that is both a delightful companion and a capable service animal.

Characteristics and Traits

Appearance: Golden Bernedoodles are strikingly beautiful, with a range of coat colors that include shades of black, white, brown, and the characteristic gold of the Golden Retriever. Their coats can vary from wavy to curly (fleece to wool) and are known for being low to non-shedding, making them a great choice for families with allergies.

Size: As with our Groodles, we will be breeding in the mini to medium range, making them suitable for a variety of living situations, from apartments to homes with large yards.

Temperament: Known for their gentle and affectionate nature, Golden Bernedoodles make excellent family pets. They inherit the sociability and eagerness to please of the Golden Retriever, the calmness and strength of the Bernese, and the sharp intelligence of the Poodle. They are often easy to train and are great with children and other pets.

Health and Care

Golden Bernedoodles are generally healthy, but like all breeds, they benefit from regular exercise and a well-balanced diet. Regular visits to the vet for check-ups and vaccinations are essential to keep them thriving. Their coats require regular grooming to prevent matting and to keep them looking their best.

Comparing Groodles and Golden Bernedoodles

While both breeds share similarities such as their hypoallergenic coats and adaptability, there are notable differences that might make one a better fit for your lifestyle than the other:

  • Energy Level: Groodles typically have a higher energy level and thrive in active environments. They are perfect for families or individuals who enjoy outdoor activities. On the other hand, Golden Bernedoodles tend to be more laid-back, suited to a variety of lifestyles, including those of seniors or less active households. However, as we know there can be variations between generations and even individual puppies in litters in both breeds, that’s why with the added tool of our temperament testing through puppy evaluations, you can make an informed decision to pick the puppy that is best suited to your individual circumstances.
  • Temperament: Groodles are known for their outgoing and playful nature, making them excellent social pets. Golden Bernedoodles, while also friendly, often display a more composed demeanour, reflecting the Bernese Mountain Dog’s influence.
  • Training and Socialisation: Both breeds are eager to please and easy to train, but Groodles might pick up commands a bit quicker due to their high energy levels. Golden Bernedoodles may require more patience in training, particularly when young, due to their slightly more reserved nature.
  • Colours: While our focus will remain on health, structure and temperament as our primary focus, due to being able to use the beautiful colours we have developed in our Groodle program, along with the beautiful tri-colour genetics of the Bernedoodle, we will be able to offer more colour variations in our Golden Bernedoodles.
  • Cost: Given the work that has gone into developing the Golden Bernedoodle and importing lines with our partners Apache Park Groodles and Bernedoodles and Northern Beaches Groodles, the Golden Bernedoodle is a slightly more expensive option than our Groodles. Pricing and purchase information can be found here, including payment plan options.

Making the Right Choice

Choosing between a Groodle and a Golden Bernedoodle depends on your personal preference, lifestyle, and what you’re looking for in a dog. Consider your daily routine, the activity level in your home, and the amount of time you can dedicate to grooming, exercise, and socialisation.

At Fairview Park Groodles, we are dedicated to helping you find the perfect breed for your family. Both the Groodle and the Golden Bernedoodle bring their own unique joy and character to a home, and we are here to provide you with a healthy, happy puppy, no matter which breed you choose.

As always, we’re happy to help. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us or book in an introductory discussion.
