Puppy Allocations

Please read below for an explanation of how the puppy allocation process works at Fairview Park Groodles. For information on how to reserve a puppy please see our Puppy Reservations Page.

Most puppies are chosen/ allocated based on a preferred colour, sex or other physical attributes. At Fairview Park we do things differently to make all attempts to match a puppy to their new owner’s needs and circumstances based on temperament.

We follow the internationally renowned Badass Breeder (BAB) program which consists of both a comprehensive puppy-raising curriculum to positively guide their adjustable traits and a puppy aptitude test (PAT) when the pups are 7 weeks old to assess their adjustable and stable traits.

for more information on the benefits of puppy evaluations, you can read our blog on this topic here.

We run our breeding program based on the principles of integrity and transparency and ALWAYS putting the health and well-being of our dogs and puppies first. You don’t just “buy a puppy” from us, you become a part of the Fairview Park Groodle family. All puppies go to their new homes with a health guarantee and lifetime support.

For this reason, we ask that people buying a puppy from us remain open-minded and wait until the week leading up to go home day to make their final puppy selection when evaluations have been completed, and they can make a truly informed decision. The choice is still absolutely theirs, however, it is an informed choice.

Once we have completed the aptitude testing (we call them evaluations) for all puppies, we provide the Fairview Park Puppy Pick Assist Dossier (click here to see an example) to provide you with comprehensive information to assist with picking your new puppy. The Pick Assist Dossiers include the following:

  • Puppy photo album including photos from birth to present day

  • Go Home Report which includes

    • The evaluation results

    • Percentage scores for compatibility for different types of homes

    • Weight record from birth to present day

    • Dam and Sire details

  • The Puppy’s Vet Check and proof of microchip and immunisations

  • The Puppy’s Birth Certificate

  • Curriculum Certificate of Completion

  • Litter Report Card

    • Comprehensive curriculum history (so you can see we do what we say we do and all the things the puppy has experienced and been exposed to while in our program)

  • A written report summarising the evaluation results and a video link to view the entire evaluation for that puppy

  • The parents’ health tests (which can be requested at any time of the process prior).

Once all this information has been compiled for all puppies, prospective puppy parents will be provided links to the evaluation reports for the available puppies in the litter based on their reservation list order and invited to pick their puppy.

Depending on the pick order there will be circumstances where there are only limited numbers of puppies to pick from, or only the final puppy is offered.

If this/ these puppies are unsuitable for your personal circumstances (either in my or your opinion) the following options are available: you may transfer your reservation fee and you will move to the top of the pick order for the next litter or you may have your reservation fee refunded. Please note this is the only circumstance in which the reservation fee would be refunded at this point of the process.

An example of the evaluation report and go-home documentation provided for each puppy in our litter can be viewed by clicking here.

(Please note, also included but not provided in the above sample folder is a 2-year health guarantee and comprehensive go-home instructions. Samples of both of these documents are provided upon a puppy reservation spot being allocated, and final documents are provided upon final puppy allocations).
