Suitability & Placement Policy

At Fairview Park Groodles, our foremost responsibility is the lifelong wellbeing of our dogs and puppies, and to ensure each puppy is placed into a home where they can thrive emotionally, physically, and socially.

Our Matching Philosophy

We raise our puppies with great care and intention, and we match them to families based on temperament, suitability, lifestyle alignment, and long-term outcomes, rather than preference alone. While we welcome families sharing their hopes and preferences, final placement decisions are guided by professional assessment and what we believe will create the most successful match for both the puppy and the family.

Waiting List

Being accepted onto our waiting list means you are considered suitable in principle for a puppy from our program. It is not a guarantee of placement.
The waiting list is an expression of mutual interest and allows us to continue learning about each family as the process unfolds.

As we progress from application through to litter development and temperament assessment, additional information may arise that helps us determine whether our program and processes remain the right fit for a particular family.

Right to Decline or Withdraw Placement

We reserve the right to decline or withdraw an application or placement at any stage prior to puppy go-home day if we believe that our program, processes, or matching approach are not the best fit for a family’s needs or expectations.

This decision is never taken lightly and is always made with the puppy’s welfare and the long-term success of the placement in mind.

Temperament-Based Matching

Puppy allocation occurs only after formal temperament assessments are completed. Families do not select puppies at birth, and we do not guarantee a particular puppy, gender, colour, or temperament outcome.

Our matching decisions are final and based on:

  • observed temperament and behavioural traits

  • family lifestyle and experience

  • environment and support structures

  • the needs of the puppy as an individua

Communication & Boundaries

We aim to provide thoughtful, supportive communication throughout the process, while also maintaining clear boundaries so we can focus on raising healthy, well-adjusted puppies.

Our program follows a structured process that includes:

  • scheduled updates and photos

  • a single planned visit per family prior to go home day

  • defined communication timeframes

While I am always happy to help with questions, queries and concerns, families who are seeking a highly personalised, on-demand, or constant interactive experience may find that a different breeder is better suited to their expectations.

Our Commitment

Our commitment is to:

  • the welfare of every puppy we raise

  • ethical breeding practices

  • honest, transparent communication

  • placements that prioritise long-term success over short-term emotion

By applying to or remaining on our waiting list, families acknowledge and accept this suitability and placement approach.
